Well, let’s see what I’ve been up to lately.
You know; typical summer stuff.
My very good friend, Pablo came for a visit from
Montreal and we went to the beach a couple times and even went Par 3 Golfing with my mom.
I was caddy with the putters.
I put my panic disorder to the test and actually ate out in a restaurant twice. So YAY!
On the down side I mysteriously broke out in terrible hives for about three days. I had huge welts or hives on my knees, shins, one foot, upper arms, hands (including palms) and chest. A monstrous dose of antihistamines did the trick. No clue what I might have reacted to. My doc thinks it could be sun. I may have to rethink a Cuban vacation in the near future.
Also Pablo had to cut his Vancouver vacation very short due to work issues. Dammit!
So I’ve been planning the upcoming 2009 Iconic Women By Yoshi Calendar and hopefully will avoid the heinous time stresses I had last year. So far so good.
And, um, let’s see…what else is new with me?
Oh yeah…
I GOT A NEW KITTEN TODAY!!!!
9 Weeks Worth of Flame Point Terror Recently Neutered
Yoshi is separated from him for now and they have seen each other from behind bars. Yoshi is clearly not impressed with lots of hissing but when the kitten is out of sight she is VERY curious lurking outside the bedroom door. The attitude seems to be turned on and off as she sees fit. Everybody pray hard for us that Yoshi and The Kitteh can become friends. Or at least tolerate each other.
His name? No idea yet. I didn’t expect to get him so soon so I am kinda unprepared. He is absolutely the snuggliest and friendliest kitten I’ve ever met. Constant purring. Wants to be on you all the time. Very clingy. I REALLY want to keep him but the SPCA says I can bring him back if Yoshi freaks out. But that is not going to happen, right?
*pleasepleasepleaseYoshibeagoodgirlandlovehimtoo*
Any name ideas?

ADORABLENESS! Crossing my fingers for Yoshi to come around.
How cute is that last photo?! It's a boy though, huh? I was just trying to think of a way you could incorporate him into the calendar photos. Maybe doing Yoshi's bidding in some activity or other . . .
She'll come around. If she put up with the dogs for a few days, she'll surely settle in with this sweetheart. Congratulations!
I WANT HIM!!!
oh yeah. and good luck with Queen Yoshi. i have much hope, as my best friend brought home a new baby a few weeks ago, and her main female cat, Afu (meaning *prissy* in spanish) was NOT impressed. but they are making friends and less *hissing* and less general vocal disapproval.
but seriously. I WANT HIM!
name idea: WESLEY
Ferris
Levi
Agador (Spatacus)
Wilber
norbert
TU/dag
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK, so cute! Yoshi will get used to him, she'll just need time.
Names:
TUT (like King Tut)
Frank
Chuck
Mario! But you must roll the "r".
Demitri the Lover.
Jacquimo
Harrison
Ernie
"Juan" is the word verification on the page!
Melanie (Holy Schmidt)
Nothing yummier than a kitten.
You are doing the right thing. Keep them separated for awhile, let her sniff him through baby bars, and soon all will be well.
Felix (yep, like the cat).
Ring-o (by the rings it has in its tail)
I hope that both of them get along...
I hope Yoshi's curiosity gets the better of here and she ends up liking the little fellow.
Can't think of any good names just yet, but I'm LOL at Agador Spartacus.
Being a video game junkie, my suggestions to go with Yoshi are obvious:
Mario
Luigi
=) Cannot wait to see the new iconic women and heroic men calendar for 2009!
Oh... congratulations Kranki!!!!! Now for names:
Westley (from Princess Bride)
Peeve (y'know... my pet, Peeve)
Atticus Finch
Congratulations! I love his widdle pink nose.
Just give Yoshi time. We have a Siamese with what seems like a similar temperament and when we introduced a new cat it took weeks (like maybe 6-8 weeks) before they could be in the same room. Then a few more weeks before they could sit at opposite ends of the couch. They're both happy now, not the best of friends by any means, but they respect each other's space. It might be even easier with a kitten, as he will likely defer to Yoshi more and allow her to assert herself as alpha.
He's beautiful, Kranki!! :) Yay! I'm so happy for you!! When I was little, we had 2 siamese cats - Dinaford and Napoleon (or Din-Din and Nappy), but other than that, not much creativity with the naming. Whatever you name him, though, he's gorgeous. I hope he and Yoshi become very good friends. (And that they don't start conspiring against you.....)
I also vote for Wesley.
I once got a girl kitten for Linus to have a buddy, and all she was jump on his head and pee EVERYWHERE...
I had to find her a home where she could be the only kitteeeeee.
He looks like a very good boy, and Yoshi *will* be a girl.
I've been thinking. Only "Paco" comes to mind. Don't know why.
YAY for the eating out, and triple YAYAYAY for the new little guy.
Congratulations on the new baby...The Cuteness is almost overwhelming! He is ADORABLE! I am sending positive energy your way... Once the adjustment period is over, I bet Yoshi will love (or at least tolerate) the little guy almost as much as you. As for names: the Norbert & Westley suggestions above are great but I almost think he looks like a George.

Chopper
Maverick or Goose
Chip
Leo
Brutus
Buster
Chulo (which means cute in Spanish)
Congratulations!
i meant good girl
Kitty name="Zanzibar Rasputin Elsinore, III"
It would be a crime to name the cat anything other than Lemmy.
