I just got off the phone and have received some really nice news. My brother and his long time girlfriend, Jen, eloped. They went to Hawaii, which we all knew about but just thought was a holiday, and got hitched on the beach. Coolio! I have a sister-in-law now!
The funny part is that they accidentally got married on my mom and dad's wedding anniversary. It also happens to be my mom's birthday too. Ooops! Easier to remember now, I guess.
Sneaking off like that and doing it on their own is soooo the way I would get married, too, so I think it is great. I can't wait to see the photos.
Yoshi is a little sad she didn't get to be a bridesmaid, though.

Congratulations to your brother and his new wife.
And my condolences to Yoshi..
That's too cool! Yay -- you have a SIL!! When's the party?!
That's awesome!
I hope Yoshi isn't walking around in a snit.
My ex and I eloped to city hall, on our lunch break, in our jeans, and had the grandma and grandpa of a knocked-up wall-eyed fifteen year old serve as our witnesses. My mom still hasn't forgiven me for robbing her of the chance to mentally torture me with months of wedding planning interference, and I have never stopped thinking that elopement was a swell idea, even if my specific betrothal was not.
Good news!!! I'm sure you would have made Yoshi a beautiful dress too!!
Congrats to them! Though eloping never made sense to me. I always think of weddings as a great chance to share happiness with those closest to you. I hope they'll at least have some sort of a reception for everyone. Though I can't imagine a better place for getting married than a beach in Hawaii :)
Congratulations to your brother and your new sister-in-law!
Yoshi would've made a lovely bridesmaid.
Why do I suddenly have a feeling we may be seeing photos of Yoshi-as-Bridesmaid in the near future?
Oh, Yoshi would have been too cute!
Congratulations on getting a sister in law!
Hawaii is a lovely place to elope, if you can't get married in the Las Vegas drive-thru chapel. ;) Congrats to the happy couple. Leigh-Ann and I met on my parents' anniversary, and since we can't get married (maybe now that she's been approved for her green card, we can do it on a visit to Canada), we celebrate on that day. We're only 45 years behind them.
I was just checking in to see how you were doing after your surgery. Cranky is probably good - it means you care how you're doing. I hope you have some good meds to deal with all of the pain. I didn't bathe for six days after my back surgery and I felt so disgusting, but I was terrified to shower. I was worried it would hurt or I would pass out and fall, but it turned out okay and I felt so much better with clean hair. I'm glad your mom is around to at least give you that. When do you get the drains out?
I think Yoshi should be a BRIDE!
Poor Winston is a recent widower, maybe they should hook up - I know he has admired her from a-vent!
Does she like older, sophisticated gentle-cats?
Oh, congrats to your brother! I think eloping makes perfect sense. Weddings cost too much and get people too worked up, too many crazy emotions going.
I do hope we get to see Yoshi as a bridesmaid. Will she get a nice dress or one of those really ugly ones that insecure brides pick out?
Congratulations! Thats's lovely news!
Would you have handmade Yoshi's bridesmaid outifit if she needed one?
